Crafting Voices
Crafting Voices is a intergenerational song group. Our group includes individuals with lived experiences of mental health challenges, social isolation, and learning disabilities/difficulties as well as members of the community thus bridging the gaps and ensuring the group is inclusive to all.

Since its inception, we have successfully facilitated weekly choir sessions, providing a platform for marginalised voices in our community. We work with a trained facilitator who has experience in working with marginalised groups and we use Makaton in some of our songs, we have worked with non-verbal members and have percussion instruments for them to use. We also encourage members to bring their own instruments to incorporate them in performances.

Our aim is to bring together people who often feel voiceless, enabling them to learn new skills and share life stories and cultures. We have been lucky to take part in concerts in churches, care homes, The MAC, Birmingham Conservatoire and we took part in Brum Rocks which brought together 500 voices in harmony.
